On Monday 19th August Roger Greene, in association with Malahide Library, will give a talk entitled "Talbot's Great Cotton Mill at Yellow Walls". Richard Talbot of Malahide Castle established a large cotton spinning spinning enterprise, with supporting trades, in 1782 at Barrack Bridge, Yellow Walls. Power was supplied by a giant water wheel and up to 1,000 people were to be employed. The talk will commence at 7 pm upstairs in the library and last about 40 minutes.
